Job Summary
We are seeking a Baker to join the team at our busy bakery! In this role, you will prepare a variety of breads and pastries. You will be responsible for producing the daily items for retail as well as wholesale customers. The ideal candidate has previous bakery experience and a passion for creating delicious breads and pastries. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Open the bakery and prepare for the day ahead
- Clean and sanitize equipment and baking areas
- Bake a variety of breads, cakes, and pastries, following recipes and specs
- Prepare custom orders
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a baker, pastry chef, or in a similar role is preferred. Please ensure that your previous experience is evident in your resume or work history.
- Ability to use professional-grade kitchen appliances and equipment
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Team player
- Available for overnight shift. Shift starts at midnight and ends around 8 am.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour

Lucy J’s Bakery kneads hope by baking with a mission! Offering delicious breads, croissants, cookies, and even special event cakes, we bake everything from scratch in the shop at Crosstown Concourse. Partnering with the Dorothy Day House in Memphis, TN, the bakery intentionally hires parents who are or have transitioned out of a period of homelessness. Our belief is that all people should be able to earn a living wage and support their families.
